Crafting Sweet and Spirited Ventures at Kara’s Cupcakes and Bar Lucia

Kara Haspel Lind is the founder and creative force behind Kara’s Cupcakes and Bar Lucia. Raised as the daughter of a dentist, Kara developed an early love of sweets that eventually became a career. After working in advertising, she followed her entrepreneurial spirit to Tante Marie’s Professional Pastry School in San Francisco, turning a small catering business into Kara’s Cupcakes, which opened its first bakery in San Francisco’s Marina District.

Twenty years later, Kara continues to lead and grow the brand while dreaming up what’s next. Her love of hospitality and celebration eventually brought her to Napa Valley, where she created Bar Lucia, a rosé wine and cocktail bar in the heart of Napa.

At the center of everything Kara builds is a belief in creating memorable experiences, bringing people together, and giving back to the communities that have supported her businesses. As a female founder, she is passionate about entrepreneurship, connection, and turning great ideas into meaningful brands.
